Philosophy of Education


Philosophy of education is a field of philosophical knowledge that examines educational process, its aims, forms, methods, and results. Philosophy of education, creating and analyzing the worldview paradigm makes teachers understand aims of educational work, focuses modern educational model on the achievement of certain qualitative indicators.

International project "The Future human image" is realized in interdisciplinary research field of philosophy of education. The main aim of the project is to collect the experience of most effective pedagogical methods performing by all existing world educational models. It is necessary to understand two major components for efficient operation of any educational system:

1. Vision of the aim of the educational impact that is some ideal image, to achieve it using the full potential of the educational system.
2. Knowledge and usage of methods that allow achieving the aims.

That is, any educational system needs to foreknow whom and how to educate in younger generation. While the world around us is evolving, mankind, society, noosphere are developing. It means philosophy of education can not remain on the sidelines of this process. The obvious thing is that at present the issues of education have become more topical than ever. Philosophy of education as integrative anthropological knowledge, taking into account all civilization processes, prospects of humanity evolution, cultural time dominator, has to not only facilitate the choice of the variants of educational systems, programmes, methods which would correspond to progressive tendencies of social development as complete as possible, needs of individual in self-actualization, but also perform prognostic and axiological function forming a prospect of world outlook genesis of personality ensuring theoretical and methodological grounds for innovation processes in education.

International project “The Future human image” aims to raise questions, inviting new theoretical and methodological approaches in the studies of philosophy of education. This project attempts to assess a framework to the contemporary research theories in the fields of philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, neuroscience, futurology, sociology linked to the issues of forming future human image.

We welcome for discussion scholars and researchers in philosophy, psychology, pedagogy, sociology, educational policy makers and practitioners. Papers submitted to the conference will be posted on the ISPC site. Articles selected by the organizing committee will be published in the fourth volume of the scientific journal The future human image: Whom and How to educate in younger generation. Previous volumes of The future human image: Whom and How to educate in younger generation are available for download at the ISPC site.
